GTA 6 Achievements and Completion Planning: Player FAQ

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for 19 November 2026, and completion-minded players are already asking how its achievements will work. The honest answer is that nothing is confirmed yet, so this FAQ separates documented series precedent from speculation and shows how to prepare a record-keeping system before the first trophy pops.

Has Rockstar published a GTA 6 achievement list?

No. As of mid-October 2026 there is no official achievement or trophy list for GTA 6, and Rockstar has not announced how completion will be measured. Lists that circulate before a release are usually guesses, data-mining claims or placeholders, and none of them should be treated as a plan you can rely on.

What is confirmed is the framework around the game: a release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the state of Leonida including Vice City, and two protagonists, Jason and Lucia. A PC version has not been officially announced, so any PC-specific achievement talk is premature.

What do earlier games suggest?

The closest precedent is GTA V (2013). Its achievement and trophy list included a 100% completion checklist that went well beyond the main story, and its story-mode heists asked players to choose an approach during planning. GTA Online later added Heists in 2015 and the Cayo Perico Heist in 2020, showing that the online side of a GTA release can grow for years.

It is reasonable to expect some form of completion tracking in GTA 6, but that is an inference from the series, not an announcement. The structure, the number of entries and whether any of them depend on online play are all unknown.

Two practical lessons carry over from GTA V regardless of the final design. First, a completion checklist tends to reward breadth: side activities, exploration and optional content, not only story missions. Second, any choice made during mission planning may mean a second attempt is needed to see an alternative outcome. Players who kept notes on their choices in GTA V found it much easier to work out what was left at the end.

Will online play count toward completion?

Unknown. Rockstar has not described an online mode for GTA 6, let alone whether any achievements would be tied to it. GTA Online grew over many years with in-game GTA$ and Shark Cards, but that history says nothing definite about how a new online component would interact with a completion list. If online achievements do appear, it is sensible to plan for them separately, because they can depend on other players, scheduled events or updates outside your control.

How should I keep records from day one?

Completion runs are won or lost on bookkeeping. Collectibles, side activities and one-time choices are easy to forget, and a missed item late in a playthrough can cost hours. A simple log, kept like an expense sheet, prevents most of that:

  • Session date, hours played and which protagonist you were using
  • Main missions completed and any choices you made during them
  • Side activities started but not finished
  • Anything that looked missable, with a note on where it happened
  • Save file names, so you can return to a known point if needed

A spreadsheet works, but a paper notebook works too. The point is that the record exists outside the game, so you can compare it with the official list once it appears.

How much time should I budget?

Nobody can give a reliable hour count for a game that is not out. A better approach is to budget in phases rather than totals: a first playthrough focused on the story, a review phase where you compare your log with the published list, and a clean-up phase for whatever remains. Each phase can be sized to your own weekly free time.

  1. Week one: play the story at a comfortable pace and log everything.
  2. Once a list is published: mark what you already have and what looks missable.
  3. Clean-up: group the remaining items by area so each session has a clear target.
  4. Online items, if any exist: decide separately whether they are worth the time.

What about paying someone to complete achievements?

Paid help already exists for earlier games, and pages such as GTA 6 achievement completion services describe what that kind of offer covers. Before taking that route, remember that most such arrangements involve another person logging in to your account, and account sharing can breach platform and publisher terms. Penalties can include suspensions or loss of progress, and achievements earned this way do not reflect your own play.

If you are still curious, check these points before using any service:

  • Whether it requires your login details or account access
  • What the platform holder and Rockstar terms say about account sharing
  • Whether the offer names specific GTA 6 achievements that have not been officially published
  • What happens to your account and progress if something goes wrong
  • How payment disputes and refunds are handled

Where should I check for confirmed information?

Rockstar’s official GTA VI page and the Rockstar Newswire are the primary sources for announcements. Platform storefronts usually show achievement and trophy lists once they go live. Until then, the most productive preparation is a ready logbook, a phased time plan and a habit of reading the rules before you rely on anyone else’s summary.
